It nearly appeared as if she was emerging from an engulfment of fashionable flames.

The top half of the dress was standard glamour with its draped lines. But the rows and rows of feathered fur that floated down from the waist to the long train added a slightly less conventional flair.

The petite rapper Nicki Minaj wore a navy-blue gown with a train, which actually seemed too long as it puddled around her. The dress really wasn’t all that edgy or inspired, save for the side cutouts. An oxblood-red lip and a fringe of faux lashes completed the look.

Kristen Stewart was one of the few stars who truly committed to the 2013 Met Gala's punk theme on Monday night. The jumpsuit, a deep crimson shade with full-length lace detailing, matched the actress' eyeshadow perfectly. Though matching is not very punk, the nipped waist and exaggerated hip details provided an edgy update to the silhouette of the season.
